Dishwasher Maintenance Tips: 

The most important factor in getting good results from your dishwasher is the hot water. The water temperature must be a least 130 degrees in order for your dishes to get clean properly.
To maintain your dishwasher it is advised to run the unit with a quart of white vinegar, every 2 months.  Do not place any detergent or dishes when running it this way. This is supposed to help the drain clear.
Most people wonder if its better to use gel or powder detergents, it is advised to use powdered detergent or tablets. Gel detergent aren’t the best solution for your dishwashing.
